To set up taxes, fees, and discounts, navigate to and hover your mouse over the selection at the top, ‘My Office’ and select ‘Taxes, Fees & Discounts’ under ‘Products & Services’.  Once the Taxes, Fees & Discounts selection is made, choose the Tax/Discount items tab.  Then select, Add New, and add the new tax, fee or discount and the accompanying information.

 

  1. )  Navigate to and hover over the ‘My Office’ tab in Service Fusion.

 

  2. )  Select Taxes, Fees & Discounts.

 

 

  3. )  Select the Taxes/Discounts tab.

 

  4. )  Select +Add New.

 

 

5. )  Complete the information by first selecting if you are wanting to set up a tax, miscellaneous fee, or a discount.

 

 

6. )  Select if the type will be calculated as a percentage, calculated as a fixed amount (product or service specific) type, or if it will be calculated on the grand total as fixed (applied to grand total).  If you use a percentage, a fee will be charged as a percentage of the items, services or products that are put in the boxes below.  If a set amount depending on the product or services , the set amount will be per product or service that is put in the boxes below.  If a set amount for the grand total, the exact set amount will be applied to the total invoice.

 

 

  7. )  Enter the name of the tax, miscellaneous fee, or discount.

 

 

8. )  Put in if the rate is a percentage, a fixed amount if product/service specific or a fixed amount if it applies to the grand total.

 

9. )  Select the appropriate switch for Auto Add, yes or no.  If yes, the tax, miscellaneous fee or discount will be automatically added to jobs.  This can be changed by setting the tax, fee, or discount in the customer differently.  If this is set to auto add, no, you can set up the customer to have this tax, fee, or discount automatically be added to their jobs.  If set to yes, auto add, you can set the customer to no and this tax, fee or discount will not be automatically added to the customer’s jobs.

 

  10. )  Then this where you make it active or inactive.

 

 

11. )  If the tax, fee or discount is service specific, you select the service by clicking on it, select the arrow, and the service will move from the left box to the right box.  If you want all services to be used to apply the tax, fee, or discount, select the double arrows and all of the services will move over to the box on the right.  You can also search to see a service in either of the boxes.  You can move the service item from the right box to the left box as well.

 

12. )   If the tax, fee or discount is product specific, you select the product by clicking on it, select the arrow, and the service will move from the left box to the right box.  If you want all products to be used to apply the tax, fee, or discount, select the double arrows and all of the products will move over to the box on the right.  You can also search for a product in either of the boxes.  You can move the product item from the right box to the left box as well.

 

 

  13. )  You want to make sure and select Save.
